报告摘要:

Quantum entanglement and quantum coherence are two critical resources in quantum information processing. Here we establish a general operational one-to-one mapping between coherence and entanglement measures: Any entanglement measure of bipartite pure states is the minimum of a suitable coherence measure over product bases. Conversely, any coherence measure of pure states, with extension to mixed states by convex roof, is the maximum entanglement generated by incoherent operations on the system and an incoherent ancilla. Remarkably, the generalized CNOT gate is the universal optimal incoherent operation. In this way, we endow all these coherence measures with operational interpretations, including the celebrated coherence of formation and coherence cost. In addition, our work is instrumental in studying interconversion between coherence and entanglement.

麻志浩,男,现为上海交通大学数学科学学院教授。主要研究方向是量子信息以及量子力学相关问题,尤其是量子纠缠理论及其在量子计算机、量子通信中的应用。目前,在国际权威主流学术刊物发表论文30多篇,其中在世界科学最高刊物《Science (科学) 子刊《Science  Advances(科学进展)发表论文1篇,在物理学排名第一刊物《Physical Review Letters》发表论文2篇,在物理学顶尖期刊《New Journal of  Physics》(英国皇家物理学会最好的期刊), Physical Review A》(Nature 评为世界上最好的68种科技刊物之一)等权威刊物发表论文20多篇。
